The Longest Day of my life

It was a day which had 33 hours out of which 26 were sunny. It was the longest, most tiring and most momentous day of my life : my 25th birthday.

I celebrated my 25th Birthday in 3 countries on land and numerous countries fly-by including the arctic circle. I saw sea, desert, mountains and polar ice caps. I travelled half-way around the world.

It was a flight from Delhi to Los-Angeles via Frankfurt on Air India. All 3 countries had emotional significance for me in one way or the other. When I reached Frankfurt I hopped around like a bunny in a nursery as I knew my way around (old memories) the airport including a little bit of deutsch. When I reached LA I was given a thorough check by the customs, which was very embarrasing as even my underwear were out there on public display.

Still wondering about 33 hours ? Yeah, fact is that you gain time when you travel from India west and the time difference between India and LA is 12 hours, so when I reached LA it was still daylight of the same day though it was like 5 in the night in India of the next day. Officially and hilariously, I left India on 9th at 7 a.m and reached LA on 9th at 5 p.m.

But it was special, the whole trip, and the feeling attached to it. I guess only Harshivl can understand what I would've felt.

In the end, it took a quarter of a century.
