My trip to Mumbai

I recently had a vacation in Mumbai for a week ( I had actually planned for 2 but cut it short). Going to mumbai with the recent deluge still playing on my mind was rather uncomfortable. The city stank and weather was monstrous, depressing, stuffy and unwholesome at the same time. The time I stepped out of the airport, the smell hit me square in the nostrils, no I am not talking about stink but the 'smell of mumbai' which filled me with nostalgia and brought back those rotten memories. Frankly speaking, I never liked Mumbai and I still hate it to the core. My 4 years of college in that city were torture, and I lovingly call that time 'black hole' of my life. Reasons are myriad and I won't bore the reader with the nuances of my frustration.
Anyways, about the good part : Relatives and friends. Relatives : was meeting them after 2 long years. The home cooked food and comfort of a nice bed was the highlight. Friends : I had a wonderful time with my 2 closest buddies : Harshivl and Vinay. We freaked out on a saturday night, a night in which we covered almost all of mumbai with crazy fun & laughter filling the moments. I also went to home of Vinay, met his girlfriend Aparna ( currently doing his MS in US, and on vacation) and got a call from Anshuk ( my quiz partner for 4 years) who had come down from Hyderabad. Things couldn't have been better ( except the weather of course).
The worst part actually was going back to my college for getting the documentation done. Something so disgusting that I wanna write no more about it.
Once my job was over and my friends were occupied with their own errands, it made little sense for me to remain for another week in Mumbai ... So I promptly came back a week short, a decision so terrible that cried myself to sleep every night for next 7 days. Not to mention a loss of about 800 bucks in cancelled air tickets with another 2000 still stuck with kingfisher airlines.
All in all, another chapter completed.
